Four dead, 28 injured in Peshawar suicide blast Four policemen were killed and 28 others including eight police officials were injured when a suicide bomber rammed his explosive laden vehicle into CID police Station at University Road in the wee hours of Wednesday, Geo News reported.

Shortly after the blast, relief and rescue teams rushed to the site and initiated their work. The injured were shifted to Khyber Teaching Hospital and Lady Reading Hospital.

It is said that the blast was heard across Peshawar city. Windowpanes of the nearby buildings were smashed into pieces in the blast. Later, security forces cordoned off the area.


Senior police official Muhammad Ijaz confirmed the death toll and told that it was a huge blast that completely destroyed the three-story building. He said that there were 10 to 15 people present at that time in the police station.

Rescuers were trying to save people believed trapped alive in the rubble, Ijaz told.
